EBSN is a non-profit association gathering policy makers and policy providers engaged in basic skills training for adults. The vision of EBSN is to make sure that all inhabitants of Europe have the level of basic skills they need to have access to lifelong learning, ensure their employability and be active citizens. The network focuses on four of the main basic skills: literacy, numeracy, digital competence, oral communication and language skills for immigrants.
The network’s members gather once a year to contribute to better policy and practice for the enhancement of basic skills in the European population by exchanging examples of promising policy and practice at international, national or regional level.
The Reading & Writing Foundation is actively involved in the European Basic Skills Network (EBSN).
