A second chance

In your neighbourhood, company and perhaps among your friends, there are people who struggle with literacy problems. They deserve a more literate life.

By improving the reading and writing skills of people who struggle with literacy difficulties, these people get the chance to live a healthier and happier life and to be able to provide their children with opportunities. The Reading & Writing Foundation offers a second chance if needed. We do so by having facts and figures at hand. By putting low literacy on the agenda of the general public and policymakers. By preventing low literacy amongst children. But most of all, by organising language courses for adults with the help of numerous partners and thousands of volunteers.

To get an impression of how low literacy skills impact the lives of people close to your home, this video tells The story of Lisa.
